The beautiful archipelago of Tonga is set in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. It is the last reining monarchy in the Pacific. Spread over 750sq miles she boasts 177 islands which only 56 are inhabited. Out of the 103,000 living in Tonga, 70% live on the main island of Tongatapu.
With the outer islands of Vava'u having roughly 15,000, Ha'apai 6500, Eua 2300 and the Nuia's 934. Compared with Fiji which has 650,000 visitors per year, the Kingdom of Tonga only has 90,000, which offers an ideal stopover in one of the most amazing settings in the world.
